Together with his distinctive raspy singing voice, Rod Stewart found prominence within the late sixties and early seventies using the Jeff Beck Group after which Faces. He released his solo career in 1969 together with his debut album An Old Raincoat Won’t Ever Let You Down (US: The Rod Stewart Album). His use The Jeff Beck Group and Faces demonstrated to become influential around the formation from the punk rock and high metal genres.

Together with his career in the fifth decade, Stewart has offered over 100 million records worldwide, making them among the best selling artists ever. Within the United kingdom, he’s received six consecutive number 1 albums, and the tally of 62 hit singles include 31 that arrived at the very best 10, six which acquired the main position. He’s had 16 top singles within the U.S, with four of those reaching number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2008, Billboard magazine rated him the 17th most effective artist around the “The BillboardHot 100 Top All-Time Artists”. He was chosen at #33 in Q Magazine’s listing of the very best 100 Finest Performers ever, and #59 on Moving Stone 100 Finest Performers ever. In 1994, Stewart was awarded with a Rock ‘n roll Hall of Fame.
